And this is the story of our vineyard …
We purchased land in Lockwood in October of 2013, hoping to start a vineyard from scratch. It was a dream of ours to retire on a small, beautiful vineyard. Little did we know of the hard work and persistent energy we would need to see our vision turn into reality.
Our vines…
The first vines went into the ground in May 2016. We planted 2150 Cabernet Sauvignon grapevines with the help of 25 family and friends.
In 2018 we added the Malbec and Sangiovese grapevines. Within the next 2 years we planted the Syrah, Petit Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc.
Our Malvasia Bianca was finally planted in the spring of 2021, rounding out our varietals.

Over these 11 years, we have been greatly blessed with so many helping hands. Mothers, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren and friends from all over the country, have shown up with sun hats, gloves and work boots to help with the farming. Fallendown Tree vineyards would not exist without each of them, and we are ever so grateful.
